While Pluto Corporation as it’s known today began in 1963, the true origins of the company date back quite a bit further – all the way to 1913. The company is headquartered in French Lick, Indiana, home of the world-famous French Lick Resort and an area known known for its naturally occurring mineral springs whose “miracle waters” were believed to have healing and therapeutic properties.

We grew up literally across the street from the world famous French Lick Resort and the springs that supplied our first product, Pluto Water.

Pluto Water, named after the Roman god of the underworld, was produced and bottled until 1971 right here at our plant, situated directly across the street from the resort. Sale of “America’s laxative” was suspended that year when lithium became a controlled substance.
